He's Home...Again=)

Even though it was bed time and we were still getting over being sick, Jackson was ECSTATIC that Daddy was home!
To make the night even better was that Daddy brought presents home and played before bedtime. Hopefully Daddy could tell how much we missed him. Even if he's only gone for a month its feels like forever. So Happy to have him home again!

My Poor Baby

This is a Good picture of the rash, it got worse=(
In a matter of 12 hours, what I thought was a teething fever and rash turned into a 103.5 degree fever and a Full body rash. We went to playgroup in the morning and then J and I met up with Viviana to go to the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love. Jackson slept for most of the movie and woke up fussy and burning up. I immediately called his Ped and was promised a call back within 5 minutes. 10 minutes later and no call I was getting frustrated and scared. I made a mom decision and we were off to BACH urgent care. Well, I guess everyone and their dog was broken in some way....2 hours later and we were finally seen! After receiving a lecture from the head nurse to not put the word lethargic as a symptom because it means near death to doctors, she finally took his temp and gave him some motrin and a popsicle. I have to almost laugh at her because if that word meant what she was saying it did, why did it take them so long to see my son who was "Near Death"? After conducting a Strep and Scarlett Fever test the doctor determined that Jackson had a virus that just needed to run its course. I understand what a virus is and that you can't really do anything for it, but its my baby and he is miserable!! I took him home with instructions to monitor his fever and to alternate tylenol and motrin every couple hours. I hate being sick myself, but when it comes to Jackson I feel SO much worse. These are times that I wish Aaron was just a phone call and a quick drive away=( I know how bad I feel, I can't imagine how helpless he feels at times like this. A stressed and worried Mom and a sick baby...definitely not a combination a Dad likes to have.

I gave Jackson his breakfast snack bar in the kitchen. He was munching away so I decided to get myself ready in the bathroom. I popped my head out because I heard him in the living room, we listen to music in the mornings and he was "dancing" away while he munched. I hurried up and finish pulling my hair back and started walking out of the bathroom when I looked down and saw this. Some how he snuck into the bathroom and was just in his own world eating his bar. Lol, he is a very vocal little boy but some how he ninja'd his way in undetected! Sneaky little boy...very sneaky!!

Furman for the day!

Look what happens when you're gone Daddy. I have to join another family=)

Fun for Free

With the weather being so nice we decided to just stay home and play in the water. When I say home I mean at Aunt Jess'. We striped the boys down to diapers, turned on the hose, and let them run with it. They had fun.

I HAD to do it

Jackson was "on one" the other day. No matter what I gave him he wasn't happy. Not the bottle, paci, Kiki, truck...anything! So as a last resort I whipped out the DumDum. I knew he would be a sticky mess, but I needed at least a minute of silence. Let me tell you, it was AWESOME! He was happy and babbling and sucking away the entire trip to Aunt Jess'. I know that there was going to be a sugar high to follow the clean-up, but it was worth it for sugar coma that soon followed. Bad Mom Award Winner, Yes! Happy and Sane Mom, Hells Yes!

There's Something Out There

Even though Jackson isn't walking yet he has master crawling and pulling himself up. He gets where he needs to go and at the level he needs to be with no problems. (I think that may be why he has no interest in walking on his own...maybe.) Aaron and I were loading up the car with diaper bag and everything else we have to pack to do simple things about town and Jackson was crying that he wasn't being taken outside with us! Then he realized that there was a window and he could see everything we were doing and more if he looked out the window! He saw cars (and made his vroom driving noises), puppies (and arf'd at them), and even Daddy. Its pretty amazing to see him put two and two together with sights and sounds. Ah, my baby is growing up too fast!

Can't Sleep, Again!

Jackson went to bed at his regular time and woke up an hour and half later. I was able to get him back to sleep until he woke up and hour later! The teething monster is back in the Malone House. Once I pulled him out of his crib he was full of energy and ready to play. Unfortunately, it was my bed time so the only thing I had the patience for was snuggling and movie in bed. I grabbed Emperor's New Groove and we were ready for our impromptu movie night. As soon as I turned on the tv and he saw the bright colors he was "yelling" at me to hurry. He was pretty miserable, so I will allow it this once! He was very into the movie until it started freezing. He would just look at me with the "WTH" look=) The third time it froze I was done and decided it was a sign to go to bed. Jackson tried to tell me otherwise, but I was able to finally convince him that his world wouldn't end when he went to sleep. He passed out as soon as I put him in his crib and gave him Kiki. Point Mom!!

Dog Toys?!?

Taking a closer look at dog toys and baby toys one will notice that there a lot of similarities. The stuffed animals have a squeaky thing in them and have sewn on eyes, noses, and mouths. You know...choking hazards. A HUGE difference between the two are prices! I saw a cute stuffed monkey for Jackson at Babies R Us the other day at it was $10!! That's ridiculous! At PetSmart you can buy a 3 pack of squeaky jungle animals for the exact same price. You would have to be dumb to not take advantage of that...lol! So *stands up* My name is Krys and I give my son dog toys to play with...(this is where you say Hi Krys!)
Dear Mom,
I just wanted to let you know that your keys will be in the dog's water if you are looking for them later.

Love,
Jackson

It's time for...Volleyball!!

Last fall Mari asked if I wanted to play volleyball with her in a league at our community center. She know I used to play back in the day (Jr High) and would jump at the chance. Sadly I was Uber prego at the time with Mr J. A couple weeks ago I saw her asking friends on FB if anybody wanted to play. I was ready to leap at the chance, but then realized that Aaron was going to be gone the entire month of August and I would have nobody to watch Jackson during practice and games. Luckily, Viviana came to my rescue. She wanted to play and volunteered her daughters to watch J. Such a lifesaver and amazing friend/family!!!!
The Amazing Ms Viv...aka Mami
Jackson gets into it too!
After I had a babysitter I had no excuses and am so happy that I didn't. Just going to practice reminded me how much I love this sport. Its great to get out, have some fun, and meet some new friends. Most of our team speaks Spanish so we decided that our name had to be in Spanish...some how. So our team name is....Las Hunnies=) We also wanted to mix it up a little with our names and put nicknames on the back. Of course I have SFAM aka..."extra letters" for those who have no idea what it means. I love these girls and am so happy that I decided to get back into it!

SplashPark

With the heat the summer brings to the South we find that the only tolerable way to enjoy it is at the water park! When money is tight we have another place to go that isn't our own backyard...The Splash Park!! We have a fun and Free park on post next to a Starbucks (added bonus for Moms).
On the far right there is a post that's red with a yellow top that is the controls for this fun-filled park. Its a motion sensor to turn the water on after its completed its cycle through all of the "toys". Its a wonderful water saving tool!
We started off the day playing with Larisa. Jackson had a fascination with her swim suit and kept trying to pull at it. Just like a man, trying to take a girl's clothes off! Larissa wasn't havin it and made sure to tell J that!
Larisa and Andrea had to leave us and do some things with the family so we ate a quick lunch and had a power nap before more friends showed up. We ended the day enjoying a free ice cream sundae (from the ladies at the Commons) and playing with Kaison. As soon as Jess and Kaison arrived, the phone had to be put away. With Kaison walking everywhere and Jackson crawling to escape the dumping buckets of water, we had our hands full! It was so much fun watching the boys interact with other kids as well as all of the water "toys". I can't wait until next summer when they are a little older and a little more independent. I will definitely have my hands free to snap pictures without the fear of getting soaked=)

Music Class

I heard about a music class on post for kids and babies a while ago. It took me forever to finally look into getting Jackson registered for it, but I'm glad I finally did! Our first class was today and it was quite an adventure getting there! We'll just say that I pulled a "Krys" and left the directions open to interpretation. If I had taken them for what they were I would of turned on the very first street after getting on Post. Did I do this...Oh No!! I was all of the way on Post driving around going, "It has to be around here somewhere!" When we finally made it class had already started. Jackson was eager to jump right in with some booty shaking to the music.

He ended up having a blast and I was laughing the entire time. We sang songs with jingle bells, shakers, scarves and more. I'm sad that it too me this long to get him in on this class.

We will definitely be signing up for class again next month=)
