Let's Hit The Road

Last Monday Jackson and I were on our way to sunny Glendale, Arizona to see his godmother and one of my best friends Heather. This was the second time J would be on an airplane, but the first time I traveled with him on my own. Not gonna lie...I was stressin about every detail hoping it would go smoothly. I never realized how much you have to bring with you when you travel when you have kids. Good Lord, he brings more stuff than I do! Luckily, we flew Southwest and we were able to check 2 free bags so I didn't have to worry about paying $70 for luggage. I ended up walking through the airport with a small suitcase, diaper bag, stroller, and a Jackson. Thankfully, there were so many kind people along the way to help me with doors and picking up whatever toy J threw across the way!! Jackson was really good on the plane! He slept about halfway and then was awake, playing and talking to the lady in the seat next to us. She was a NeNe and had 14 grand kids of her own, so she had no problem with J leaning over and staring and trying to hit her book. We arrived safely in Phoenix to a very happy Heather!! We ate some lunch and did some shopping for groceries. Not much else the first day, we were pretty tired. Heather was very generous and gave up her bed to me and J while we were there. So nice of her, but not necessary...I was totally prepared to sleep on the couch and sack J out on a fuzzy blanket on the floor. The bed was both a good and bad situation. It was big and Jackson could sleep next to me, but it also allowed him to sleep Right Next To Me!! Ladies and Gentlemen we have a Bed Hog!!! I would put him down on the far corner of the bed snuggled up with blankets and some pillows to keep him from falling in the crack. By the time I got bed and started dozing he would be rolling over or smacking me with his hand. If he ever sleeps in our bed as a toddler we are definitely going to be waking up with some bumps and bruises from our wonderful son. They're going to be "Love Taps"...right?!?!
