Today I had to say "See You Later" to one of my best friends Ever! Mari and Brandon are officially starting their journey to Germany=( I can't believe how fast a Forever Friendship can grow. Mari, whom I refer to often as my SFAM (Sister from Another Mister), has been scheduled to PCS for a couple months now and I have decided to stay in denial until the very last minute. Slowly as as January crept closer and closer it became harder and harder to not admit to the fact that she was leaving. I don't know how many breakdowns I've had just thinking of the random moments that require, yes require, a Mari call or sms.
Nobody understands my accident proneness like Mari does. I can call her and just say I have to go to Bach, I'm alive and breathing but need you here in 5! No matter the time of night she is here for me...and I am there for her! As a matter of fact, two days ago I received a phone call at 4am and it was Miss Mari herself. She over did it and hurt her wrist and was in dying pain. (Krys to the rescue!) I was at the place she was staying at within 10. I even teared up on my way thinking that this was our last ER visit together *sniffle* Sadly, we are such pros at ER visits that we know what we will be prescribed depending on injury or illness. Mari was taken care as "planned" and we were headed home in no time...or more 3+ hours which isn't too bad for Bach.
Like any friendship we've had our disagreements and hanging out with other friends moments, but we always come back to each other. We are the only ones that will give sms threats that if we don't hear from the other within the hour a drive-by and walk-in WILL Happen! We know how long to let each other go having Bad Days and not be social before forcing back into the world. Inside jokes between us are never ending! Just wave some baby socks, or slap a post it note onto one of our front doors and the laughs will be never ending!! *totally laughed while typing baby socks*
Mari you are an amazingly strong, caring, beautiful, intelligent woman. I am so proud to call you my friend! I thank God endlessly for allowing our paths to cross. I know I was cursing the world when I heard we were moving to Kentucky, but from the first IM on MySpace that led to the late night meeting on our back patios shouting back at forth, I knew I had a keeper in you!! I love you with all of my heart and wish nothing but the best for you and B...and my Minion. We may have said See You Later today, but know that its NEVER going to be a Goodbye!! Sadly we need two signatures on our friendship contract and I am just not doing it...EVER!!! I love you my SFAM!!!
