DL Hughley Tickets!!
Mom and Dad Always have a tendency to surprise us with random Christmas presents. Sometimes they just happen to be enjoyed a little earlier than Christmas=) This was the case for tonight! Merry Christmas to US, love Nana and Papa. We were given tickets to DL Hughley's show at Zanie's in Nashville. Quenton and Viviana managed to grab tickets to the same show and we made a night out of it! We decided to start the night off at a Greek Restaurant that Aaron tried to take me to over a year ago for a night on the town (on a night that they happened to close early). Luckily this place was on the same street as the comedy club. As, we pulled into the parking lot we realized that it wasn't the place we thought it was. It was more of a fast food restaurant. Instead of eating there and possibly being disappointed we decided to try the sushi place across the street. It was pretty delicious, well if you pick out every single mushroom from your terriyaki chicken like Quenton=)
After Dinner we made our way down the road to Zanie's to pick up our tickets at WillCall and get our spots in line. The nice thing about this club is that seating is on a first come first serve basis. We
showed up about an hour before we were supposed to be there and the line
was already to the corner of the building, ready to wrap around it.
Luckily, we were still able to grab Great seats. We were offered some
Right up front on the stage, but decided that that was a little too
close. We chose a table in the second row. Which was perfect. We were
close enough that we could see and hear...and possibly be heckled=) Hughley
was hilarious...as always. It was such an amazing experience to see
someone like this live in person instead of on all of those comedy
specials.
Even though we weren't in the front row my lovely Ginger of a man grabbed Hughley's attention and we became the entertainment. First he started on the the size and thickness of Aaron's glasses. Then he asked what he did for a living and prayed that he didn't actually shoot people on the front line being so blind. After thanking him for his service he offered to buy him a drink and asked him what he was drinking. Of course Aaron took the opportunity to get a glass of Jack. Hughley laughed at him and asked if he was only ordering it because it was on His dime. Lol...it was too funny. He ended up buying Aaron a glass of Jack AND a Budweiser.
After the drink convo he then asked if I was his wife. Continued to mock the glasses by asking if we had ever really seen each other. He popped in an, She's beautiful btw *blush*. THEN it was my turn. I was then asked what I did for a living and I replied a SAHM. He asked how many kids and I said one. He laughed and told me to get my lazy ass out of the house and to get a job. I loved it!! Some of the people who were heckled got really offended by what he said (nothing bad) and were pretty sour. I took it all in the environment. I mean, that's what you get when you sit in the front of the house at a comedy club.
The night was fabulous and it ended on an a great note!! I wish we didn't have to pay to get our picture taken with him and to talk to him. Definitely would be a man I would like to just meet. Thank you Mom and Dad for such a wonderful memory. We won't be forgetting this...ever!
