Meals for Military

Operation Homefront (a nonprofit organization that helps military members and their families), offered holiday meals for military families this year. I decided that every little bit helps and signed up. In the description they mentioned that it would be a meal to feed a family of four and I was excited to get a complete Thanksgiving meal. When the day came to pick up our meal I was overwhelmed with gratitude. Jackson and I walked into Valor Hall in OG to an amazing sight. There were bags full of food, tables covered in goodies, and tons of people there to help. Once I checked in a Walmart manager came up to us with two Very full bags of food. He escorted us to a line of other people ready to give us more. We received a gift card to purchase a turkey and pie, as well as a 60 minute phone card. After making our way through the line as well as stocking Jackson up on some cookies and juice we were able to meet country singer Ashley Ray. I was blown away at the overwhelming kindness and gratitude shown to me (being a military wife) I was speechless. Honestly I was expecting a bag of groceries and to be told Happy Holidays! I am so very thankful for this opportunity and am forever grateful that programs like this are available to military families.
